FDN (Functional Diagnostic Nutrition) fills the gap for people’s needs in today’s medical system. FDN practitioners (FDN-P) use a holistic health-building program and self-care model to help people whose chronic health issues can not be resolved by the medical system and are caught in the cycle of trial and error.
Unlike the Medical Model which involves diagnosing and treating specific diseases and managing symptoms for the most part, FDN-Ps do not diagnose, prescribe or treat anything specifically, but instead works on the whole body, i.e, every cell, tissue, organ at the same time. We believe symptoms are not the problem. They are the result of the problem. Only when we address the hidden issues, a person can truly heal. We also act as your health advocate and collaborate with your doctor to ensure you receive all the support you need in your healing journey.
FDN-Ps use functional labs to identify hidden stressors and dysfunctions in a person’s body. This takes the guesswork out of finding the WHY of a person’s health issues. We also take time to correlate lab results with a person’s symptoms and lifestyle/medical history in order to provide individualized health-building recommendations. The body has its innate intelligence to heal itself. As a FDN-P, I’m here to help you restore that intelligence and provide you with health-building tools that you can use for a lifetime.

Doctors use basic labs (normally blood work) to diagnose diseases and disorders. The “normal” ranges used in these labs are much wider because it includes the majority of the population, whether they are truly healthy or not. The functional labs using urine, stool, hair as well as blood samples (they are all clues!) allow us to look beneath the surface to uncover hidden causes of the symptoms. A FDN practitioner uses Optimal ranges that represent the healthy population to identify imbalance or dysfunctions that are critical in getting our health back on track.

When you experience symptoms, the body usually has already gone through a cascade of imbalances or dysfunctions in different areas. Dysfunction in one area my cause dysfunction in another and so on (the ripple effect). Therefore, we could not "guess” which lab is most likely to help us identify the root cause of the symptoms.
In all of my programs, we start with 2-4 functional lab tests based on your symptoms.

Currently insurance only covers diagnosed illnesses and does not cover services in disease prevention, nutrition and functional lab testing. In fact, practitioners who sign insurance contracts often find their care being limited. As a FDN practitioner, I do not provide insurance billing services of any kind. However, HSA or FSA cards are accepted (please check your issuer’s policy for eligibility). I’m committed to providing the best care and support you deserve. I believe investing in health will give you the return ten-fold.

No. All of our consultation sessions are conducted online via Video or Audio and most of the functional labs can be done in the comfort of your home and shipped back to labs using enclosed return packaging. Certain lab tests may require going to a laboratory for blood draw. You will also be able to fill out intake forms and communicate with me via the online platform.

The healing journey is like growing a plant from seeds. Just as how a plant requires the right amount of sunlight, nutrients and water to grow properly, the body needs proper care, rest and nourishment to heal effectively. Therefore, the more committed you are to provide the body with the support it needs, the faster it’ll heal. Additionally, the healing process depends on how long you’ve been experiencing symptoms, what type of stress your body is under. Typically, once we identify and remove the HIDDEN stressors, people start to feel better within 3 months. In some cases, such as the presence of certain parasites or Autoimmune conditions, it may require longer to truly heal. For people with chronic conditions, it’s best to allow 1 month of healing for every year that they’ve been unwell.

As a FDN practitioner, I am not legally authorized to advise you to stop taking prescription medications. Please check with your doctor on possible contradictions and keep them informed of any changes. However, with the right nutrition and lifestyle, some clients start to see less symptoms or symptoms show up less frequently. In these instances, you may discuss with your medical provider about adjusting dosage or weaning off of your medication when you no longer need the temporary symptom relief.

Because of the industrial farming, the soil today is depleted of many nutrients that used to be present, so we need certain supplements to obtain the necessary nutrients that help restore or maintain normal cell functions.
As a FDN practitioner, I would address areas such as diet, rest, exercise, stress reduction first and then use supplements to support your healing as supplementation is not a substitute for healthy lifestyle. Depending on the individual, supplement protocols are customized to replenish nutrients, balance minerals, support the immune system and detoxification, balance hormones and to get rid of unwanted bacteria, parasites or fungi/yeast etc. Some supplements are only needed for 60-90 days while some are needed longer for maintenance.
Supplement protocols vary by each person’s individual needs so it’s hard to estimate how much it costs. However, you will receive a 15% discount on high quality supplements as long as you remain an active client.

At the end of your program, we will discuss where you are in your healing process and your next steps. If your situation requires more re-testing and continued support, you may enroll in a more advanced program (advanced hormone and detox solutions) or join my monthly membership (offered to clients who have completed one of the programs only).

Yes! In fact, as a mother of two, I’m passionate about helping children overcome their health issues and educating both parents and the children/teens on proper nutrition, stress relief strategies that can benefit them for a lifetime. Please get on a call with me to discuss how I work with children/teens.

The programs are not suitable for people who:
are looking for quick fixes instead of sustainable and long-term change (although some clients see fast relief of symptoms just by making some simple changes).
are not ready to make diet and lifestyle changes which requires time, energy and some financial commitment.
